Events & Activities

Mary, Help of Christians has many groups and activities within the parish, which provide faith development, support and a social network for all age groups in our community.

Communion to the Sick
The parish is able to offer communion to parishioners who are housebound. Please contact the office

Children’s Liturgy
Children are provided with activities relating to the Sunday Scriptures during the 10.30 am Mass each Sunday.

Marriage preparation program for interested couples
 
God Start
An annual visit to families who have had a child recently baptised. We endeavour to acknowledge the child’s birthday up to school age.
 
Gospel and Faith Sharing
Formation in Scripture studies. On- going throughout the year.
 
Liturgy Preparation
A group is responsible for the preparing music and liturgical environment through out the Church year. The group meets on a bi-monthly basis.
 
Spiritual Direction
Spiritual direction is a service available for those requesting help in their faith journey. Please direct enquiries to the Parish House
 
Family Based Sacramental Program
The parish provides a sacramental program for children attending Government Schools. The program is only available to families living in St Mary’s Parish boundaries. Please contact the Parish House
 
Baptismal Program
Parents are required to attend a monthly meeting prior to the baptism of their child. The meeting is the second Thursday of the month.
 
Christian Meditation
Christian Meditation is being still and silent before the Lord. The group follows the John Main process. Group meets on Thursday evenings from 7 pm to 8 pm in the chapel. New members are very welcome. Contact the Parish House for more information.
 
Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)
RCIA is a formation program for adults interested in the Catholic Faith.
The program is presented by experienced people familiar with the process. The group gathers bi- weekly. Enquiries made through Fr.Clem.
 
Grief Support
Families seeking help dealing with grief issues may contact the parish office and we will endeavour to assist in the best way possible.
 
Autumn Group
A social group who gather after the 10.00 am Mass on Wednesdays. Meetings are held in the Narthex.
 
Ladies Auxiliary
Senior parishioners meet on a monthly basis to share socially.
 
Special Projects Group
This group addresses fund-raising projects and social gatherings.
 
Piety Stall
The Piety Stall sells cards, books, rosary beads, religious images. The stall operates after Sunday Mass.
 
Parish Pastoral Planning Team (PPPT)
Made up of elected representatives from the Parish, the group meets monthly to recommend and review programs and activities in the life of the parish. The PPPT may be contacted through the Parish Office
